Hey everyone,
I’ve been following the Timothy Smith, II case closely and wanted to bring up something that has really struck a chord with me: the community's reaction. It’s so moving to see how the people of Jackson came together to support Timothy’s family. From the moment word got out about his tragic death, there were community-led vigils and memorials that not only honored his memory but also showed the strength and unity of those who loved him.
It’s heartening to see how his friends and family weren’t alone in their grief, and that collective solidarity seemed like a beacon of hope during such a dark time. These gatherings were more than just a way to mourn—it felt like a resounding stand against the senseless violence that took his life too soon. I truly admire how they’ve channeled their pain into something that’s pushing for change.
Did any of you attend the vigils or similar gatherings? I’d love to hear your experiences of that time and how people came together. Let’s remember Timothy not just for his untimely passing, but for the courage his community showed in rallying together.
