Hey everyone, I wanted to bring attention to the police response in Terrence Dishman's case. From what I've gathered, it seems there was a significant delay in addressing the scene and gathering evidence. This bothers me to no end, considering the urgency needed in these situations. Can anyone confirm if the police presence in high-violence areas like Back of the Yards was really stretched this thin back in 2010? It’s so upsetting to think that such delays could contribute to the lack of justice for so many families. I can’t imagine the frustration Terrence’s family must have felt during the investigation process, having to wait for answers that might never come. Does anyone have more insight into how these investigations were typically handled back then? Keep Terrence and his loved ones in your thoughts. They deserve some peace. Stay safe out there.

Does anyone remember the community vigils that were organized after Terrence Dishman's tragic death? I recall reading about how neighbors and loved ones gathered to honor his memory and to call for peace in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. It’s hard to imagine the pain his family must have felt, but the strength shown by the community during those vigils was truly inspiring. They not only came together to remember Terrence but also to fight against the cycle of violence plaguing their streets. I think it’s important we continue to support such efforts and keep talking about solutions that can help bring lasting change. Anyone hear about similar community responses in other areas affected by violence?
