Hey everyone, I’ve been following the tragic incident involving Mauricio Nance and the other victims from that awful night in Artesia. I came across something curious while reading up on the case and wanted to see what you all think. It seems that even though Allen's intent that night—supposedly trying to get marijuana on credit from Snell—was mentioned, there still seems to be this big gap in understanding what exactly could have triggered such a violent response. The prosecution clearly did their job, and for justice's sake, I’m glad a verdict was reached. But I keep thinking about how someone gets to a place where they execute such cold-blooded actions over something like a drug deal gone wrong. Allen's justification of self-defense didn't hold up, but what else might have been happening in his life or mindset that pushed things to this breaking point? Not to humanize the crime, but perhaps understanding more of the “why” might help prevent future tragedies within communities like Artesia. My heart goes out to the families of Mauricio, Demario, and Tyshun. No parent should have to bury their child, and the loss of a sibling and a father is just unimaginable. Really hoping for some healing and peace for those who continue to suffer from the fallout of this senseless violence.

Hey everyone, I’ve been following the case of Mauricio Lemarcus Nance and the tragic events in Artesia closely. While the trial has concluded, I've been thinking a lot about the impact this has left on Nance's family, especially his young daughter, Kyndall. It’s difficult to imagine what she’s been through, losing her father at such a young age. I can’t help but wonder about the long-term effects on children who lose a parent to violence. It must be incredibly tough for families to navigate these emotions while seeking justice. I hope the community continues to support her and the other victims' families as they heal. Does anyone know if there have been any local initiatives in place to support kids like Kyndall who are dealing with the aftermath of such tragedies? I’d love to hear if the community has mobilized around this or if there are ways others might be able to help from afar. Sending warm thoughts to all those affected.
