I've been following the tragic case of Earnest Myers Jr., and I keep coming back to the involvement of a minor child during the whole ordeal. It's so chilling to imagine what that child must have gone through, being present during an act of such violence. My heart goes out to the child and their family—it's just unimaginable trauma. While justice has been served with the sentencing of Jerome Thomas and Jordan Terry, the emotional scars for everyone involved, especially the child, will last a lifetime. As a community, how do we support those indirectly affected by crimes like this? It's a stark reminder of the broader waves of pain incidents like this can cause. Keeping them all in my thoughts.
