I've been following the Jeremy Brooks case, and it just hits so hard to think about how a community lost another young soul to violence. It feels like Jeremy didn’t even get a chance to begin his life properly, and that’s just devastating. What really got me thinking is how these situations impact the local schools. I can’t imagine the atmosphere in Jeremy’s school right after his death. Losing a friend or classmate like that would be incredibly traumatic for the students and teachers. It's so important for schools in areas with high levels of violence to have strong counseling support and mental health resources. Kids dealing with the loss of a peer may carry those scars for a long time, and they need a safe space to express their grief and fears. I've read somewhere that consistent, positive engagement in schools can really help at-risk youth make better choices, steering them away from potential dangers outside. Does anyone know if there were any programs implemented in Jeremy's community after his passing? I hope something positive came out of this tragedy to prevent other kids from having the same fate. Sending all my thoughts to those who knew Jeremy.
