The tragedy of Jeannette and Brianna Johnson's passing still weighs heavily on the Water Valley community. I've seen many discussions focusing on the incident itself, but I think it's important to remember some of the positive contributions Jeannette made. Her role as the Dietary Manager at the Yalobusha County Hospital and Nursing Home is often highlighted, but I recently learned from a neighbor that she was also a mentor to many of the young staff there. She took the time to guide new employees, showing them the ropes and always had a listening ear. It’s a testament to her character and the supportive nature that she embodied. In moments like these, reflecting on the good that someone brought into the world can help us heal and inspire ongoing kindness in their memory. My thoughts are with Jeannette, Brianna, and everyone in Water Valley who is feeling the void they left behind.
