Hey everyone, I’ve been following the Marcus Butler case and wanted to discuss the role of bystanders in incidents of domestic violence. It’s such a complicated situation when someone intervenes, like the friend did here. I can’t help but wonder how they’ll live with the decision they made. Even though the shooting was ruled as self-defense or intervention, imagine the trauma of ending someone's life, even with the best intentions. Marcus’s wife and children, too—how do they process all this? Their lives are forever changed, and it's hard to imagine the emotional toll this will take going forward. It's so important that we continue to raise awareness about domestic violence and support initiatives that provide safe solutions. Any thoughts on how we as a community can better address these situations? It feels like this is something we need to talk about more, so tragedies like this don't keep happening.
