I’ve been following the discussions about Terik Domino’s case, and I just keep thinking about how this senseless act has shaken the community. It’s unfathomable that a simple delivery to Dollar General could end so tragically because of a stray bullet. I keep imagining what Terik might have been thinking or doing just moments before – maybe he was planning his next delivery or thinking about the 49ers’ last game. It’s devastating to think that his life was cut short over something he had nothing to do with. I also wanted to raise a conversation about the real impact this has not just on Terik’s family, but also the community and people who were there at the time. Knowing you were just a step away from tragedy must be incredibly difficult. This should remind all of us of how critical it is to continue speaking out against gun violence and supporting community efforts to create safer environments. Hoping that others in the community can share ways we might be able to help support Terik’s family or work towards preventing such tragedies in the future.
