I’ve been following the case of Laquarries Giles, and something that hasn't been discussed much is the impact this tragedy must have had on his friends who were there that day. I can only imagine the trauma they’re experiencing, losing a friend in such a sudden and violent way. They were likely just hanging out, trying to enjoy their summer, and now they have this cloud over them. It’s so upsetting to think about young lives being shattered and lives lost too soon. As a community, I hope there are resources to support them in healing and that they're encouraged to speak up and share their stories when they’re ready. It's crucial that we nurture the youth, especially in times like these, to help guide them towards safety and resilience. My heart goes out to them, and I truly hope they find peace and justice for Laquarries.
