I was reading up on the tragic case of Johnnie McDonald, and something that really struck me was the sheer amount of violent incidents happening in Jackson. How are the residents and community leaders responding to the rising violence there? It's especially alarming considering the fact that this was the 93rd homicide in 2022 alone. I can't even begin to imagine the impact this has on Johnnie's family and their sense of safety. Hopefully, this case might prompt some serious conversations and actions aimed at addressing the root causes of such incidents in the city. Sending thoughts to Johnnie's loved ones as they navigate this incredibly tough time.
