Has anyone else wondered what happened to Colin's SPOT GPS locator after he checked in on 06/22/2012? It's strange that it didn't transmit any more signals afterward. I mean, those devices are pretty robust, right? Did it malfunction, or could it have been damaged if the raft overturned? It's puzzling because a malfunction or damage might have been caused by rough conditions on the river, but without more signals, it's hard to know where he might have ended up. It's odd how some technology that’s supposed to be reliable can end up leaving us with so many unanswered questions. Could be a vital piece in understanding where things went wrong. Thoughts?

Has anyone been following Colin's case from 2012? I've been doing some digging and stumbled upon an interesting detail. His SPOT GPS checked in at the West Forks Katete River Area, which is quite a distance from where he was initially kayaking on the Kikahe and Stikine River. This has me wondering if Colin intended to explore the area more than he originally let on. It's baffling that his gear was found but absolutely no sign of him. Could there be an uncharted tributary or hidden path that he might have tried to explore, leading away from the main search areas? Anyone familiar with the terrain or have any insights about unmarked trails in that region?

Hey everyone, I've been following Colin's case for a while, and something's been bugging me about his gear recovery. When they found Colin's pack and raft, were there any signs of damage? Like, are we talking about holes or any indication that it could have overturned accidentally? It's strange because if he was experienced in kayaking and hiking, how likely is it that everything would have gone wrong just like that? Also, does anyone know exactly where in the West Forks Katete River Area his items were discovered? It might help to understand if the currents in that section are known to be particularly dangerous. It's just really puzzling, and I’m hoping we might learn something from those who know the area better.
