I’ve been reading up on the Ingalls Fight and my heart goes out to the families of those impacted, especially Young Simmons. He was just an innocent bystander who got caught up in something so tragic. It's awful to think about how his life was cut short while simply seeking refuge. I’ve been wondering if there were any personal accounts or diary entries from residents of Ingalls at that time. It would be insightful to understand how the town coped with such a traumatic event. It’s moments like these that really highlight the unpredictable nature of the Old West and how perilous life could be.
