Anyone else find it chilling how quickly things escalated during that fateful day in 1908? The fact that a simple dispute over a fishing catch could spiral into such a deadly confrontation is just mind-boggling. My heart goes out to the families of Assistant Chief Henry Klaber and the other brave officers who lost their lives. It’s a testament to how volatile things can become in a split second, and it reminds us of the risks law enforcement officers face, even in situations that appear routine. Also, it hits me that Klaber had only been with the force for seven months. Can’t imagine what his family, especially his wife and four kids, must have gone through. Anyone here know if there were ever any memorials or tributes for these officers? It seems like such a pivotal event in Okmulgee's history.
