Has anyone else noticed the strange angle about the jury's decision in the Deputy Yeager case? I've been digging through the old news articles and court records, and it just baffles me how they concluded Yeager didn't have legal authority. He was new, yes, but shouldn't just being a deputy grant some jurisdiction? It seems wild to think that the constable’s personal grievance could overshadow the fact that a man lost his life, an entire family lost their rock, all because of a technicality. It's hard not to feel for Yeager's family. Seven kids growing up without their father because the system failed. Would love to hear other thoughts on how this kind of judgment even becomes a possibility in a case with such apparent evidence of wrongdoing.
