I recently came across the Sirloin Stockade murders, and couldn't help but feel deeply for Anthony Tew and the other young employees like him who lost their lives over such a senseless crime. Imagine the dreams and futures they had ahead of them—it’s just devastating to think that their lives were cut short over a mere $1,500. One thing that really struck me was how Anthony was from Cape Charles and was just spending the summer in Oklahoma City. It makes you wonder about the twists of fate that place people in these situations. He was just a 17-year-old trying to work and get experience, perhaps earn a little money for college or future plans, and ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. My heart goes out to his family who, no doubt, were eagerly waiting for him to return home at the end of the summer. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain from receiving the news that your loved one is never coming back. It's important that we remember Anthony and the other victims, not just as part of a crime statistic, but as individuals whose lives should have never ended this way.

Hey everyone, I can't stop thinking about the lives that were cut short at the Sirloin Stockade in 1978. It's such a haunting case, especially considering the ages of some of the victims. What stood out to me recently was how brave they all must've been. Imagine being just 17, like Anthony Tew or David Lindsey, and facing such terrifying circumstances. Anthony traveled all the way from Cape Charles, unaware that something so horrific awaited—a summer in a new place should have been filled with new experiences and opportunities, not the end of his journey. I also find it poignant that their lives might have been saved if not for the senseless greed that drove their killers. It's hard to grasp how anyone could think money is worth more than someone’s life, let alone six lives. I feel for the families and friends who were left to cope with such a sudden and shocking loss. It must have been incredibly difficult for them. Keeping Anthony and the other victims in our thoughts as we continue to reflect on this case. Feel free to share any thoughts or insights you might have about them or this case. Stay safe, everyone.
