Did any of you catch the name Leroy Orrin Phillips when reading about the Edmond post office massacre? I was reading up on the victims, and it's so easy to get caught up in the numbers and the horror of it all, but these were real people with lives and families. Leroy was an Air Force retiree, just stepping into his new role at the Postal Service. It's just so tragic to think about how he was adjusting to a new chapter in life after serving his country.
I can't help but wonder how his military background might have shaped his outlook and if it helped him during those terrifying moments. It's a reminder that no workplace is immune to violence, something Leroy's family and friends surely never expected to invade their lives. If anyone has personal connections or memories of Leroy, it would be comforting to hear about the person he was beyond that dreadful day. Sending my thoughts to everyone still affected by this.
Hello everyone,
I've been reading through threads about the Edmond post office massacre, and I've been particularly moved by the story of Leroy Orrin Phillips. From what I understand, he was the last person targeted during the attack. It's incredibly sad to think about the hopes and plans that are suddenly taken away by such a violent act.
Leroy dedicated his life to serving his country in the Air Force and then chose to serve his community as a postal worker. I can't help but think about his family and friends who lost someone so dear to them that day. It’s so important that we continue to remember not just the events, but the people like Leroy who were caught up in them through no fault of their own.
Does anyone know if any memorials or commemorations have been established for the victims, especially in Edmond? Keeping their memories alive can help ensure that their lives, though tragically cut short, are never forgotten.
Sending thoughts to those still impacted by this tragedy.
