I've been reading about the Edmond massacre and something that truly caught my attention was how Jonna Ruth Gragert, known to many as Jonna Hamilton, had dedicated her life not only to her job at the post office but also to caring for others as a licensed LPN. It's so difficult to process how someone with such a nurturing spirit, who likely helped so many, was taken so senselessly. It seems like she had so much more to give, and thinking about her family and friends, it's hard not to feel a deep sense of loss for the potential that was stolen on that August morning. It does make me wonder what more could have been done, then or now, to recognize and prevent such tragedies. Has there been any discussion about implementing systems for identifying signs of distress in employees since then? Or has it all just faded into the past? It's vital we keep these conversations alive not just for Jonna, but for everyone’s sake.
