I’ve been following Lauren Whitney Maguffee Totten’s case, and something that’s been on my mind is the location of the robbery. I can't wrap my head around why it happened at that specific home on Halloween night. It's a night when the streets are filled with families and kids trick-or-treating; you’d think it wouldn’t be a prime time for such a terrible act to take place. Did Darren Gouge target that house for a reason, or was it purely chance? Maybe there’s more to why Lauren ended up in that situation. It just seems so random and tragic. It breaks my heart for Lauren's little boy, Ryder — growing up without his mom because of something so senseless. I've read a bit about how those who knew Lauren described her — and it’s clear she was so loved and cared for. I hope the justice system brings some peace to her family. Does anyone else have thoughts on why he might have chosen that specific place or time?
