I've been following the tragic case of Jalen Jawun Ware, and I can't shake the thought of how terrifying it must have been for him in those final moments. Being driving down the street, possibly thinking about everyday things, and then suddenly facing such senseless violence is beyond comprehension. My heart goes out to his family and friends, who must grapple with the abruptness of his loss every day. It seems so unfair to lose someone so young to an act of such randomness and cruelty.
I also wanted to point out how much I appreciate the swift action of the police in this case. It doesn't bring Jalen back, but knowing that the suspects, Dangelo E. Brack and Cordelro Adams, were apprehended quickly must provide at least a small measure of solace to those who loved him. I hope the legal process continues to offer some justice for Jalen's family. It’s community strength and solidarity that often help grieving families navigate through such tragedies. I’ll be keeping an eye on this case and holding his family in my thoughts as they continue on this difficult journey.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the bravery of the witnesses who came forward after Jalen Ware’s tragic murder. It's got to be incredibly difficult to stand up and share what you saw, especially when it's something so terrifying. But if they hadn't spoken up, who knows if the suspects, Brack and Adams, would have been caught so quickly.
