I can't stop thinking about the incredible bravery the Williams brothers showed on that fateful night. They were just doing their jobs, trying to ensure the safety of their crew, and ended up paying the ultimate price. It’s gut-wrenching to think about how a simple act of diligence turned so tragic. The community really lost two dedicated and hardworking men that night.
It's hard to wrap my head around the senseless nature of this crime. I hope that the trial and conviction of Ondriel Smith brought at least a small measure of peace to their family. They deserved answers and justice, even though nothing can ever bring Glenn and Keith back. If only this tragedy could serve as a wake-up call about the violence in our communities, and spur change not just in Tulsa, but everywhere. My thoughts continue to be with the Williams family, and I sincerely hope they can find some moments of comfort and healing.
