I wanted to share something that’s been weighing on my mind about Estavion Green’s case. It’s absolutely tragic how someone with such a promising future was taken so soon. I read about how Estavion had just graduated from high school days before his murder. It got me thinking about all the dreams and opportunities he had ahead of him, the path he worked so hard to create for himself.
As a community, it feels like we need to take more time to highlight and celebrate these accomplishments of young people like Estavion. I can only imagine the pride his family felt during his graduation, only for it to be followed by this senseless act of violence. What can we do to ensure these kids not only reach these milestones but actually live to pursue their dreams?
It’s encouraging to see many local organizations trying to make a difference, but Estavion’s story shows there’s still so much work left to do. Let's honor him by continuing to push for change and supporting each other in these difficult times. My heart goes out to his family and friends who are navigating this unimaginable loss.
