I still struggle to wrap my head around the circumstances of Robert Turnbow's death. It's such a tragedy that a simple ride home ended in such violence. I keep thinking about the sequence of events and how fast they must have unfolded. It's terrifying to imagine that Robert was just waiting outside in what he might have thought was a harmless situation, only for it to turn deadly in an instant. I wonder if there were any warning signs or if Harris was known for having a temper or acting unpredictably. Just about everyone has given someone a ride home at some point—it's such a common thing to do for a friend or even an acquaintance—without considering the risk of something like this happening. I can't imagine the turmoil the woman must feel, being in the middle of it all and witnessing the horror. My thoughts are with Robert’s family and friends who have to live with this unimaginable loss every day. The community's split opinion on Harris’s actions also makes me question how we interpret the idea of self-defense and how we support victims' families through such a complex process. What does justice even look like in cases like this?
