Hey everyone, I've been following the discussion about the tragic Knik Arm plane crash that occurred near Birchwood Airport. I wanted to bring up something I haven't seen mentioned much yet: the weather conditions that day. I read that it can be super unpredictable in that area, especially with the winds coming off the water, which could have affected where Seth was trying to head. Does anyone know if this was considered heavily during the search efforts? It seems like a factor that could change everything about where someone might end up. Thoughts?
Has anyone heard more details about Seth's last known location standing on those aircraft floats? I'm trying to wrap my head around how someone could be in such a position. Was Seth trying to assess the situation or potentially gearing up for an exit plan? It just seems so strange that a recovery focused over a mile away from where he was last reported. The distance is quite baffling. Is it typical in these incidents to drift that far, or could there be more to the story we’re missing? Any insights from folks experienced in aviation mishaps would be greatly appreciated.
I've been digging into the case of the missing person from that plane crash in Knik Arm, and I can't stop thinking about how experienced Seth was with planes. Friends mentioned he was always cautious and methodical, so it’s puzzling how something like this could happen. The fact that he was last seen standing on the aircraft floats keeps gnawing at me. If he was in trouble, I wonder if he tried anything to signal for help or if there was anything in the environment that could have provided clues. Does anyone know if the search effort focused on the immediate area where the plane was found, or did they look beyond that for any signs of him?
