Hey everyone,
I came across this tragic case about Juan Leon Lewis Sr. and something that stood out to me was the role the community played after his passing. It's amazing to see how the community in Tulsa rallied around Juan’s family, especially during such a tough time. Friends and relatives coming together to set up a GoFundMe campaign shows just how much love there is for him and the impact he had on those around him. It’s just so important to see people unite and support one another in times of crisis.
I'm curious, does anyone know if there were any community-led events or vigils held in his honor? It's always comforting to hear stories of communities coming together to remember a loved one. My thoughts are with his family, especially his mom.
Wishing everyone in the community strength and peace.
I was just thinking about how close-knit the community around 36th St. North and MLK Jr. Blvd seems to be and how much Juan was a part of it. A lot of people describe him as having this electric smile and personality that just warmed up the spaces he was in. It’s really overwhelming to think of how such energy and positivity could be taken away so suddenly and violently. I hope that the community gatherings and the support from friends and family through the GoFundMe can provide some solace to his kids and his mom, Beatrice. It's clear from everything I've read that Juan's presence meant so much to so many. It’s often in these times of loss that you see a community's true spirit. My heart goes out to all who are mourning him.
