Has anyone else been thinking about the pressure surgeons like Dr. Preston Phillips have to endure on a daily basis? It's just so upsetting to realize that he was targeted in such a brutal manner simply while doing his job. Surgeons work tirelessly, often for long hours, trying to help patients improve their quality of life. The fact that Dr. Phillips lost his life because his former patient couldn't handle his post-surgery pain just makes this whole situation even more tragic. I can’t stop thinking about the fact that Dr. Phillips had performed numerous surgeries, helping countless people get back on their feet, only to encounter something this devastating. It's hard not to feel a mix of sadness and anger for all the families affected, especially his. This brings up essential conversations about the type of support and protection medical professionals need, especially when dealing with patients who might become volatile if things don’t go as expected. Sending my thoughts to all those affected.
