I’ve been following Steve Wilkins' case closely, and my thoughts are definitely with his family right now. One thing that keeps sticking out to me is how Steve's body was overlooked during the initial search after the shed fire. I can’t imagine the frustration and anguish his family must have felt, knowing he was out there all along, but not found until so many months later. It’s deeply concerning how easily crucial evidence can be missed in such situations. What's baffling is that three months passed before anyone stumbled upon him, and it took the accident of someone searching for a cat to bring his whereabouts to light. This just underscores the difficulties in these investigations. Does anyone else wonder if there were factors, like miscommunication or oversight, that caused the search to miss him initially? I hope that with Scrivner, Brummett, and Kleiner now charged, there will be thorough scrutiny of all aspects of how the case was handled, not just to bring justice for Steve but also to ensure more effective investigative practices in the future.
