Hey everyone, I’ve been following Tariq Akbar’s case and something that really stood out to me was how his father and his former teacher have been trying to turn this tragedy into a teachable moment for young people. Seeing the efforts of Katraile Scott and Tamika Johnson to push for change and discourage violence is something I find incredibly inspiring and poignant. In situations like these, it's often easy to focus solely on the crime, but it's important to remember that there are people left here who are turning their grief into a positive message—seeking to prevent future incidents. I really hope their voices are being heard and that it can lead to some sort of change among young people in the community. Does anyone have any more information on any initiatives they might have started, or how we can support their cause? These acts of remembering and also acting for a better tomorrow are exactly what keeps cases like Tariq's from being forgotten. The whole situation is very sad, yet the strength shown by his community is moving. Sending my love to Tariq’s family and everyone affected by this senseless tragedy.
