Hey everyone, I’ve been following the Mike M. Vance case, and I’ve been thinking a lot about his family and friends who had to deal with such unimaginable loss. I couldn't help but notice how often the discussions around these tragedies focus so much on the crime itself that we sometimes overlook the incredible grief and support that the victim's loved ones endure. It must have been so hard for them not just because of the suddenness of Mike's death, but also due to the environment in which they live, one constantly shadowed by fear of violence. It makes me wonder about the support systems in place for families impacted by such crimes. Are there adequate resources or counseling services available for them to turn to? In a city grappling with so many similar cases, how do community programs address the needs of those left behind? Strengthening these support networks seems just as important as tackling the violence itself. To those who knew Mike, my thoughts are with you. I hope the community bands together, not just for justice, but for healing as well.
