I recently came across a detail about Ziggy Zyszkiewicz's case that hasn't left my mind. During the trial, it was revealed that Deshaun Scott, the identified shooter, was just 21 years old when he committed this horrendous act. It's so difficult to comprehend how someone so young could be involved in a crime that caused so much pain and devastation to Ziggy's family and the community. I've been thinking about how Ziggy, who spent over three decades serving Milwaukee, deserved so much more respect and safety while just doing his job. It's infuriating and saddening at the same time. It makes you wonder about the paths that lead young individuals to make such devastating choices, with little regard for human life. My thoughts are with Ola and their children, who are enduring an unimaginable loss. Ziggy's dedication and kindness truly left a lasting impact, and it's clear from everything shared by his loved ones how cherished he was. I sincerely hope the city takes stronger measures to prevent such tragic incidents in the future, for all their dedicated workers out there. Stay safe, everyone.

Hey everyone, I’ve been digging into the tragic case of Greg "Ziggy" Zyszkiewicz, and something that hits home for me is the sense of vulnerability faced by those who work alone out in the field, like housing inspectors. What gets me is the inherent risk involved in a job that, on the surface, seems pretty routine. When I think about Ziggy being out there, simply doing his job and providing for his family, it's just so senseless and frustrating that it ended in such a violent way. The city workers, just like Ziggy, are everyday heroes who deserve to feel safe while serving the community. With his family pushing for safety reforms, I hope this case brings about real change. The thought of his family having to deal with such a sudden and tragic loss while advocating for something so important is incredibly humbling. Hoping for peace for the Zyszkiewicz family and improvements for all our city workers out there. They deserve to come home safe after a day’s work. Stay safe, everyone. Would love to hear your thoughts on how we could improve conditions for city inspectors. — zigzagging123
