Hey everyone, Just reflecting on the Joseph Benson case. I stumbled across an interesting detail about the location of the incident at Wahl Park. It's haunting to think that such a hub for community activity—a place where kids should feel safe playing basketball—became the scene of such senseless violence. I know parks like this often hold memories for people, and I can't imagine what it's like for those who frequent Wahl Park now. Joseph had dreams and ambitions—going from serving in the Army to aiming for a career where he could make a change like a lawyer or judge. It's incredibly unfair that his life was cut short so tragically in such a public space. I think the community should come together to honor his memory, not just as a victim, but as someone who wanted to bring positive change. How do others feel about the role these shared public spaces have in both creating community ties and being locations of vulnerability? It's hard, isn't it, knowing a place aimed at bringing people together can have such a dual nature? Sending my sincerest sympathies to Joseph's family and everyone impacted by this. Keeping them in my thoughts. Would love to hear others' thoughts. Stay safe, everyone.

I’ve been following Joseph Benson’s case since it happened, and I’m still so moved by the details that emerged during the trial. What sticks with me is how Joseph had such ambitious dreams of using his life to make a difference—like pursuing law at Marquette University. It’s gut-wrenching to think about the potential that was lost. His dedication to helping local youth really speaks volumes about the kind of person he was. I hope that those who knew him personally find some comfort in knowing he made a meaningful impact in his community. It’s just so tragic how quickly life can change due to such senseless violence. I’m sending thoughts to his family during what is undoubtedly a difficult time.
