Hi all, I can't stop thinking about Natalie Turner and how young she was, with so much life ahead of her. She seemed like such a bright light at Chetek-Weyerhaeuser High. The school must be reeling from losing not just a student but someone who was kind and positive, qualities we all need more of in the world right now. It's horrifying to imagine the fear and courage she showed, managing to call 911 in those final moments. I remember reading something about how the community was hit by a tornado earlier that year and lost another student in a plane crash. It's hard to fathom how people in Chetek are coping. It feels like just one thing after another for them. Has there been any talk about what kind of support or resources the high school offered to help students process and heal from all these tragedies? You'd hope there's something in place to help them deal with such immense grief. Sending love and strength to everyone still affected, especially the friends and families of Brenda and Natalie.

I’ve been reading through some of the details about the Chetek murder-suicide involving John Hengst and the Turners, and it’s the kind of tragedy that really leaves you at a loss for words. What stands out to me is how much Natalie seemed like a wonderful young woman with a bright future ahead of her. From what I’ve gathered, she was quite well-loved at Chetek-Weyerhaeuser High School, and her kindness made a real impact on everyone around her. This community has already been through so much this year, and losing Natalie in such a senseless act is yet another blow. I can’t help but think about her friends and classmates who must be heartbroken. They’ll forever carry the memory of someone who lit up their world, and I hope they find strength together as they deal with this unimaginable loss. Domestic violence really is a silent monster, and it’s just devastating to see it tear families and communities apart like this.
