I was reading about Jasmine N. Banks' case, and I can't stop thinking about her twin sister, Tyra. The thought of being there, right in the passenger seat, and witnessing something so traumatic must be overwhelming beyond words. How do you even begin to cope with losing not just your sister, but your twin—the person you've shared every moment of your life with? My heart goes out to her, and I hope she finds support and healing every day. It’s just unimaginable to me how a moment of violence between strangers can shatter so many lives. I truly hope the community around Tyra and Jasmine’s family rallies to support them through this. I also keep thinking about the little ones in the backseat. Growing up without their mother is another layer of tragedy. I just hope we see more conversations about preventing gun violence so that fewer families have to endure this kind of loss.
