In reading about Raven Coley, I can't help but think about her four children and the unimaginable loss they're facing. Growing up without a mother is something no child should have to endure, and my heart truly goes out to them and the rest of Raven's family. It's hard to wrap my head around how such a preventable tragedy can have such a lasting impact. I keep coming back to the issue of gun safety and responsibility. It's so important for those who own or handle firearms to understand the seriousness and potential consequences. Seeing the lives unalterably changed by one person's careless choices serves as a solemn reminder of why these laws and safety measures exist. I hope this case continues to spark discussions about responsible gun ownership so that, hopefully, similar tragedies can be avoided in the future. Sending love and strength to everyone affected.

Hi everyone, I’ve been following Raven Coley's case for a while now, and I spend a lot of time wondering about the justice system and how it handles tragedies like this. The fact that Deonte Wilkins was sentenced to only one-and-a-half years in prison, with some credit for time served, honestly baffles me. I know every case is unique, but thinking about Raven’s four kids growing up without their mom makes me think the consequences are barely scratching the surface of what’s fair. I can’t imagine how her family and friends must feel seeing someone responsible for such a loss face relatively little time behind bars. Does anyone else feel like sentences in cases involving firearms and negligence should be harsher, or maybe approached differently? I'd love to hear your perspectives, especially if you have any insight into how sentencing is typically handled in similar cases. Raven deserved so much more, and it’s so tragic that a moment of carelessness resulted in such a permanent loss. Sending love and strength to her family and those little ones.
