I've been thinking a lot about the safety of those living and working in areas where these violent incidents take place. It's genuinely upsetting to think about how quickly an ordinary day at a gas station can turn into a life or death situation. My heart goes out to the bystanders and workers who might have experienced trauma from witnessing such violence. It’s not just Lawrence Jones and Daveion Wilson who were affected that day; countless lives were touched by the events that unfolded. People deserve to feel safe in their own communities, and it’s tragic that these increasing incidents undermine that safety. My thoughts are definitely with Lawrence's family and friends, but also with those trying to make sense of what they saw or heard and hoping for a day when these stories become less frequent.

The ripple effects of Lawrence Jones's death on the community and his loved ones weigh heavily on my mind. It's such a difficult loss to bear, especially for his family and friends who have to cope with the knowledge that his life was taken in such a violent manner. I can't help but think about the role that firearms play in escalating what might otherwise have been a non-violent situation. The prevalence of guns in these transactions seems to turn every potential dispute into a deadly encounter. It's a grim reminder of the pervasive issues with gun violence and the urgent need for more effective interventions in Milwaukee. Seeing young men like Lawrence and Daveion caught up in this cycle is incredibly troubling, and I hope the community can come together to push for change. My heart goes out to everyone mourning Lawrence. He deserved a future full of possibilities, not an end punctuated by gunfire.
