Hey everyone, I've been following the tragic case of Jovanni Frausto and something that really struck me was the subject of victim impact statements during the sentencing. I can't even begin to imagine how difficult it must've been for Jovanni's family to stand up and speak about their loss in the courtroom. It's such a raw and vulnerable moment, not just for them, but also for those listening. The courage it takes to put their grief into words and confront the person responsible must be immense. It’s a reminder that behind all the legal jargon and proceedings, there are real people grappling with unimaginable pain. My heart goes out to Jovanni’s family, and I hope they find some solace in the strength they’ve shown. Does anyone else feel like these statements have an impactful role in the judicial process, or maybe even help the families in some way? Would love to hear your thoughts.
