Hi all, I just wanted to bring up something I read about Jason Gatewood's case that has been weighing on my mind. Jason was only 31 when he was murdered in Chicago back in 2012. From what I gather, this time was particularly rough for the city, with gun violence and gang activity rampant. What really struck a chord with me is how Jason's death seems to have fallen through the cracks because it was among so many others during that period. It pains me to think that he might just be another statistic in those reports. Does anyone know if his family or friends have spoken out? Were there any community vigils or memorials? Sometimes, it helps to see the human side amidst all these grim facts. If anyone has any info or updates about efforts in his name, it would be comforting to know that he's remembered and that his story might be fueling change somehow.
