Does anyone know if there were any reported sightings of Rodney Smith near the Glen Echo Park area around the time he went missing? I’ve read a few cases where individuals with cognitive decline end up wandering to locations that hold some sentimental value to them. Considering his circumstances, I wonder if Rodney had any particular attachment to places nearby, like a park, a café, or even a regular walking route. Any info from local residents who might have seen him or noticed anything unusual could be helpful. It's always interesting to see how small details can sometimes lead to breakthroughs in these cases. Let's keep the discussion going and see if we can connect any dots!
Has anyone looked into the possibility of Rodney wandering into one of the less traversed areas around Glen Echo? There are some pretty dense wooded areas and trails nearby, like behind Cabin John Regional Park, that may not have been searched thoroughly at the time. Elderly folks, especially those with cognitive decline, might end up in unexpected places.
Also, I'm curious about any security camera footage from around the neighborhood or nearby streets. It's possible someone might have caught him on camera walking, even if it doesn't directly pinpoint his location, it might provide a direction he was heading.
I feel like there has to be something more we can uncover—sometimes overlooked details can provide the smallest glimmer of hope in cases like these. Let's keep the conversation going, and maybe fresh eyes or ideas can help bring some closure to Mr. Smith's family.
