Hey everyone, I've been digging into the Knapp case, and something that's been bothering me is the role of the community in all of this. Castle Rock in 1900 was a small place where everyone probably knew each other, or at least about each other. It makes me wonder, did anyone have any inkling of the danger posed by Martin Stickles before these tragic events unfolded? Were there warning signs that were possibly ignored? I'm sure back then, just like today, people might have noticed unsettling behavior but perhaps didn't think it would escalate to such violence. It's chilling to think that the Knapp couple, along with Shanklin, were living so close to someone who ultimately had such malicious intent. I feel so deeply for the families who had to endure this loss in a tight-knit community. It's unimaginable to go through the pain of losing loved ones under such shocking circumstances. Would love to hear if anyone has come across any old records or stories passed down that might shed light on how Castle Rock coped in the aftermath.
