I’ve been following Eric E. Williams’ case and the circumstances just seem tangled up with the broader issues Chicago faced back in 2012. I wonder how the disbandment of those specialized gang units really impacted the environment back then. You can't help but think, did losing those units directly lead to a rise in conflicts, with more young lives caught in the middle like Eric? It just seems so frustrating to think that policy changes could have unintended consequences that cost lives. My heart goes out to Eric's family, who’ve had to navigate their loss amidst all this chaos. It's important we keep these conversations going, not just to remember Eric but to learn from these past mistakes.
