I’ve been reading up on the Tornow case, and I can’t stop thinking about the intense resilience of law enforcement and even civilians back then. Imagine being in that search party or part of the posse tasked with finding someone as elusive and dangerous as John Tornow. The bravery it must have taken for the community to come together, especially knowing the outcome might be grim. It's such a chilling reminder of the risks faced by those upholding justice, yet somehow comforting to see how communities rally together in times of tragedy. My thoughts go out to Deputy Elmer's descendants and all involved; their courage left a lasting impact.
