Hey everyone, I recently came across the case of Frank Washington, and I've been thinking a lot about how the media portrayed Chicago back in 2012. It feels like Frank's story got overshadowed by the overwhelming statistics and sensational headlines. Does anyone else feel like individual stories often get lost in the bigger picture? Frank was someone's loved one, and it’s so tragic that he became part of a statistic rather than a fully told story. I wonder how his family coped with not only his loss but also navigating the chaos of the media frenzy during that time. It must have been incredibly difficult for them. It makes me question what more could have been done to make sure each victim’s story was heard and that we as a community could honor their memory in a more meaningful way. Thoughts?
