As members of the true crime community, it's crucial for us to remember the human aspect behind these cases—the fear, the innocence lost, and the devastation left behind. My heart goes out to Christy's family and her cousin, who must carry the weight of this trauma. This case serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the need for intervention and support in preventing family violence. Sometimes the ones we should feel the safest with are the ones who cause us harm. How many more lives need to be forever altered before we as a society can address these underlying issues effectively?
