Hi everyone, I just wanted to bring attention to something that I've been thinking about regarding Henry Jr. K. Howard's tragic death. It's devastating to think about how the systemic issues in Roseland and other similar neighborhoods have made it so incredibly hard for residents to speak up or come forward with information. I can't begin to imagine the fear and pressure folks face when deciding whether to help law enforcement, knowing the risks that could come with it. What strikes me is how often these cases sort of fall into this tragic cycle. Without witness cooperation, which is understandably difficult to secure, investigators hit a wall, and justice remains out of reach for people like Henry. I wish there was more we could collectively do to support residents in Roseland, to make them feel safer and able to share what they know without fear of retaliation. It's a sobering reminder of how much more needs to be done to address these deep-seated issues. My heart goes out to Henry's family and friends; they deserve answers and a sense of peace in knowing what happened to him.
