I've been thinking a lot about the devastating loss of Deputy Daniel McCartney. What really stands out to me is how he ran towards danger without a second thought to protect those in need. It's truly a testament to his bravery and dedication to his duty. Getting a glimpse into his life, it sounds like he was a wonderful husband and father too, which just makes this loss even more painful for his family. I can't imagine how hard this must be for them. It’s upsetting to see how the lives of such honorable people can be cut short because of senseless violence. It's important that we remember the sacrifices made by officers like Deputy McCartney, and keep supporting our law enforcement communities who face these dangers every day. Sending thoughts and support to his wife and children during this tremendously difficult time.

It's been almost five years since the incident, and I've been thinking a lot about the impact on his family, especially his three young sons.
