I've been following the case of the tragic mass shooting in White Swan and I keep thinking about Catherine Marie Eneas-Squeochs and her life on the Yakama Nation. It's hard to comprehend the pain her family and community must be feeling. From what I've read, she was so much more than a victim—she was a beloved member of her community who grew up on her family's ranch. The devastation of losing someone in such a horrific way is unimaginable. It's somewhat of a relief to know that justice is being served, but it doesn't bring Catherine back, nor does it heal the wound left in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. I hope the convictions of James and Donovan Cloud bring some sense of closure, though I'm sure the road ahead is still long and difficult for everyone involved. Sending love and thoughts to Catherine’s family and all those affected by this tragedy. ?
