I can't stop thinking about the incredible life journey of Etenesh Kebede and how deeply rooted her sense of community was in Seattle. It's really moving to see how someone who came from such challenging beginnings in Tigray could become such a vital part of her new home. Her story is a testament to her resilience and strength, rising above adversity to build a life filled with love and service to others.
I read that she was actively involved with several local organizations, always giving back despite everything she'd been through. It's tragic and frustrating that her life ended as it did, and it really highlights how we need more resources for those in volatile domestic situations.
Her children are a part of her lasting legacy, and I hope they find some comfort in knowing how highly people thought of their mom. I think it's up to us now to keep her spirit of community alive and ensure we learn from tragedies like this. It makes me want to do more to support victims of domestic violence and advocate for the kind of awareness that could prevent senseless losses like Etenesh's.
