I came across Karin Riebe's devastating case, and it's been heavy on my mind. I can't stop thinking about the heartbreaking call she made to 911, seeking help and protection from her own son. It's infuriating to know Karin did everything she could, but the system still failed her. The fact that she was advised to stay away from her own home is upsetting. How many more people have to suffer before there are changes in how these situations are handled? Mental health and domestic violence are such complex issues, but they desperately need more attention and better protocols. My thoughts are with Karin's remaining family and friends; I can't imagine the pain they're enduring right now. ?️
