Hey all, I'm just really struggling to wrap my head around why someone like Diandre R. Johnson was even out on bail in the first place. It’s deeply unsettling to think that someone with a history of first-degree assault was free to roam the streets, putting the community at risk. Steven A. Cavitt's tragic death feels like it could have been avoided if our justice system had been more stringent. It's hard not to think about the system’s role in all of this. Why was Johnson, with his criminal past, given another chance to walk freely, only to allegedly commit another violent crime? My heart goes out to Steven’s family and friends—it's just unimaginable what they're going through. It makes me wonder how we can advocate for more effective measures to prevent such losses in the future. It’s encouraging to see the community coming together to provide information that led to Johnson's arrest.
