Has anyone else been following the aftermath of the Salishan neighborhood murders? It's been over two years now since Maria Nunez, her family, and her brother's girlfriend lost their lives. I’ve been thinking a lot about the people they left behind and how they’re managing to cope with such an unimaginable tragedy. From what I’ve read, Maria was especially loved in her community, often described as someone who would go the extra mile to help those around her. I can't even begin to imagine the sense of loss her friends and neighbors must be feeling still.
During the trial, hearing about the families' testimonies really hit me hard. They had to relive that day over and over in the courtroom, and I can't fathom how distressing that must have been. Has anyone come across any recent interviews or articles that discuss how the community has been healing and supporting the victims’ families since then? It seems like moments like these, when people come together, can sometimes help in finding a sense of peace. If there's any kind of memorial or fund established in their memory, I'd love to know more about how others are contributing in ways big or small.
