I've been following the case of Carolyn Thompson-Mitchell closely and I can't stop thinking about the impact on her close friends and family, especially in a tight-knit community like Newport. Losing someone in such a sudden and violent way is unfathomable. But what really touches me is the ripple effect — it's not just about the immediate loss, but how it affects everyone who knew her. I can only imagine how her friends might be questioning their last memories together or perhaps feeling guilt for not sensing any warning signs. It's a reminder of how important it is to check in with loved ones and cherish every moment. My thoughts are with them all as they navigate through this unimaginable time. Does anyone know if any local support groups or community gatherings have been organized to help those affected? I think staying connected can be a source of strength during such devastating times.
Hi everyone,
I was thinking about Carolyn Thompson-Mitchell today and how this whole situation must have impacted everyone who knew her. I didn’t know Carolyn personally, but from what I've read, she was well-loved in her community. I can’t help but wonder about her neighbors and friends. They must be experiencing such a heavy sense of loss. I imagine their neighborhood feels incredibly different now, with her absence leaving a gap that won’t easily be filled.
It’s just tragic how one act can create such a ripple effect. Even though Jacob admitted to what he did and the legal system was following its course, it’s still hard to fathom how two lives were abruptly extinguished — not only Carolyn's but his as well. I hope the community is finding ways to support each other through this pain. If anyone is from Newport or knows more about how people are holding up, I’d appreciate any insights. Sending strength to all affected.
Stay safe and take care of each other.
